Stockton, Calif.

The city of Stockton in northern California has a colorful history and a lively charm that make it a great place to live and work. Close to San Francisco, coastal beaches and Yosemite National Park, Stockton also offers a wealth of history, culture and recreation opportunities. The San Joaquin and Sacramento River delta offers boating, fishing, water-skiing and sailing. One of Stockton’s many claims to fame is that the city is the birthplace of the Caterpillar tractor, first manufactured by the Holt Manufacturing Company in 1904. Another claim to fame is the town’s annual Asparagus Festival, a fun-filled celebration that has made Stockton “the asparagus capital of the world.”
