On opening day of the Wisconsin State Fair, Piggly Wiggly Midwest partnered with Hunger Task Force, Milwaukee’s only Free & Local food bank, on a special promotion to fight hunger in Wisconsin. Fairgoers who donated two cans of healthy fruits or vegetables received admission for just $5 — and the community showed up to make a real difference for local families.
Who: Piggly Wiggly Midwest
What: In partnership with Hunger Task Force, this event helped ensure Wisconsin families have access to healthy food. In just one day, a record-breaking total of 59,000 pounds of food was collected — 21,000 pounds more than last year! These contributions will help fill pantry shelves and dinner tables across the state at a time of growing need. During the event, 105 Piggly Wiggly Midwest employees, along with their families and friends, volunteered to support the effort. Piggly Wiggly Midwest also made a separate donation to further Hunger Task Force’s mission.
