SpartanNash Foundation

Supporting the communities we serve is core to our purpose. Since 2015, the SpartanNash Foundation has supported more than $17 million to nonprofit partners, including organizations that:

  • Provide meals through food banks and pantries
  • Deliver food and water during natural disasters
  • Support veterans, military families and first responders
  • Offer training and nutrition education for Special Olympics athletes
  • Equip young people with career and life skills

Read our latest impact report to learn more about last year’s results.

With each of these efforts, we are enabling brighter futures for those served through our nonprofit partners, giving them continuing opportunities, a renewed sense of security and the ability to thrive.

Heroes and Hope

Heroes: Programs that support U.S. military service members, veterans and their families; first responders and frontline workers; company volunteers; and disaster relief efforts.

“We are so grateful to the SpartanNash Foundation, its outstanding team and patriotic store guests for their impact in making a life-changing difference,” said Lt. Col. Dan Rooney, founder and CEO of Folds of Honor. “These funds will help provide an education to the families of fallen or disabled American heroes. Military service members and first responders selflessly sacrifice every day, and this generous donation will ensure that their spouses and children are not forgotten.”

Hope: Programs that support career training and pathways, reduce food waste and fight food insecurity, and provide a more sustainable environment.

“SpartanNash and the SpartanNash Foundation continue to be invaluable partners to Junior Achievement (JA) across Michigan and the Midwest,” said Bill Coderre, president and CEO, Junior Achievement of the Michigan Great Lakes. “This back-to-school campaign resulted in record funds raised for Junior Achievement's mission. These funds come at a critical time as JA prepares for the changing world by providing experiential learning where students achieve academically today and economically tomorrow.”
