The Griffin Report for Food Marketing has named C&S its 2009 Wholesale Innovator of the Year. C&S was lauded for service to its customers, as well as its speed and efficiency. The company was also recognized for its commitment to investing in communities where it does business.

Keene, N.H. – November 24, 2009 – As an expression of caring for neighbors in need, and in response to difficult economic conditions, C&S Wholesale Grocers Inc. and its employees have donated 7172 turkeys to Feeding America member food banks. This represents a 32% increase in the number of turkeys donated last year and is enough to make approximately 220,000 wholesome, nutritious meals.

Keene, N.H. - C&S employees banded together across the country for the 7th consecutive year on Make a Difference Day, Saturday October 24, 2009. Make A Difference Day brings millions of Americans together each October to volunteer in their communities.

C&S Wholesale Grocers, Inc. continues its efforts to alleviate hunger in many of the communities where it has employees and facilities during the month of September, Hunger Action Month. The initiatives are a combination of grants to Feeding America member food banks, employee engagement activities and sponsorship of an upcoming national conference for hunger activists.

24th Annual Golf Event Provides Important Support in a Tough Economy

Keene, N.H. – August 27, 2009 – The customers and vendors of C&S Wholesale Grocers
showed their generosity again this year at the company’s 24th annual Charity Golf Outing, which
was held August 4-5 on courses in Vermont and Massachusetts. The event raised $1.1 million in
grants to organizations that focus on pediatric cancer and childhood hunger.
