Volunteerism

At C&S we believe we can contribute to our local communities by participating in volunteer activities. The following programs inspire our employees to give of their time, skills and talents:
For Individuals
Dollars for Doers: Through this program, nonprofit organizations benefit twice – once from C&S employees’ contribution of time and again from a C&S contribution of $1 per hour volunteered, up to 1,000 hours or $1,000.
Dollars for Doers support is awarded for many types of volunteer activities including teaching people to read, delivering meals to seniors, or serving as a volunteer firefighter.

C&S encourages Associates to find volunteer opportunities in their communities. A great way to get started is through VolunteerMatch, a free online service that matches people with nonprofit organizations.
For Teams of Employees
Team Up and Make Strides: This program supports teams of 4 C&S employees who team up and participate in walk-a-thons, runs, bike-a-thons and other similar events to raise awareness and funds for charities.

Make A Difference Day: On a Saturday in October, the largest single day of volunteer activism takes place in the U.S., and C&S employees roll up their sleeves and take part. Make A Difference Day provides groups of employees to volunteer together to show they care for their communities. Past projects have focused on helping nonprofit groups in the area of hunger alleviation.

Company-Wide
National Hunger Awareness Day – Food For Hungry Kids Drive: For millions of Americans, including 12 million children, food insecurity is a way of life. In partnership with America’s Second Harvest, C&S employees in each of our facilities are asked to donate food for children to mark National Hunger Awareness Day. Items collected are given to food banks for local families. C&S matches each pound of food donated with $1 to America’s Second Harvest for public education programming.
To address hunger in our country and in our own communities, C&S Associates support National Hunger Awareness Day.
National Hunger Awareness Day is sponsored by America's Second Harvest, the largest domestic hunger-relief organization in the United States. For more information: www.hungerday.org or www.secondharvest.org
